I recently had sewage spill into my back yard from a downspout drain due to a clogged line. The line was routed and is working fine, but would like to know the best way to clean up the mess in my yard. Will I need to remove top soil and will I need to disinfect the ground some way??

Thanks,

Nature will take care of it

Let nature take its course.

Farmers spread great quantities of manure on the ground to make the crops grow better. Bacteria in the soil will take care of everything.

If it starts to dry out and look bad you may want to spray some water on it to encourage it to break down and soak into the soil. Your grass in that area should be greener in the spring.
