We are getting ready to install a whirlpool tub against a wall that the washer piping is in. We were hoping this would allow us to use the water and drain pipes from the washer to plumb in the tub. Is this possible?

A tub drain needs to be 1.5" or larger (the actual tub drain is normally 1.5, if the drain is larger, adapters are available as the drain gets moved to where it really needs to be), it needs to be trapped, and have a vent. The short answer is probably. My unprofessional opinion.
