The water softener in my house was not used in 3 years; it was set on bypass. Not sure if the previous owner used it. I'd like to empty it out and disinfect it before I use it. The problem is that I can't get all the salt from the bottom, because the tank is too tall.
Any idea how to get all the salt out of it?
