We have just had new counters and sink installed, previously we had a double sink and now we have a single sink. We got the necessary parts to re-plumb the sink in from one sinkhole but the dishwasher is currently connected to the current pipes - how do we connect the dishwasher to the new single line?

If you have a disposer, you can use the knock-out and install it there from the air gap.
Otherwise, you need a dishwasher inlet tee before it hits the p-trap.

Or.....if you have a second trap arm from the wall, you can add a p-trap there and run the dishwasher to that.
In many places, an air gap is needed, or if you're lacking that, looping the drain line as high as you can before connecting to a drain.

There is no disposal. the dishwasher connects in the middle of the 2 pipes from the old double sink.
