PEX Newbie here.
In changing the RO of a heating drop to Pex, I noticed it CAN swivel in it's own fitting.......

Fast forward now. Doing final measurements and prep.
In the 2 pics below, the baseboard will hang on cleats, fixed to the wall
Out of the wall at 6 feet apart, is 3/4 Pex Stubouts.
The pex system I am using is Wirsbo.

With the fact that the Pex can spin in it's own fitting, I'm thinking I want to try this route.
There is some slop in the wall-pex for it to move in and out.
Cut the stub, Fit the Pex Adapter, bushing reducer and then the short nipple. Short nipple/bushing will just stick out of the wall..

This is a 2 person job but the gist would be.
Support baseboard at the RO level. Thread nipple and wrench tight both stubouts to the baseboard.
The Pex will *swivel* within it's own fitting....
Tilt the unit a smigen upward to get it on it's cleats and Viola...

Option B would be to just cleat and hang the unit.....and do similar procedure but open the wall up on both sides for wrenching and such if Plan A does not work out as intended.

For all you Pex guru out there, will this work ?

Project long done. The pex compresses onto it's fitting.

I had some extra nipples and unions on standby - but it went off without a hitch as intended, threading the pex fitting onto the bushing. The hardest part of this install was actually hanging it. Getting the end cleats to sit were good. The cleats on the wall were installed and leveled. The side cleats would sit fine...but there was a slight bow somewhere along the wall not allowing the middle cleat to easily slip on. A little extra force after a couple tries and I got all the cleats to sit on when lowering the baseboard onto it.
