It's been awhile since I've taken on a new bathroom remodel....
I've always associated ~metal~ as a quality product over plastic, but even with my recent replumb of the laundry, mud room, we used a good of cast iron as well as Schedule 40.

The overflow tube I am looking at is offered in BOTH PVC and Brass.
I'm inclined to go with the PVC variant just due to the welded connected.

Pros/Cons ?

This may very change depending on what I see when I gut the room.
The tub is running parallel with the Joists
It will be in the same RO/area where the existing tub is.
Not sure how much slop will be there for me to finigalle a PVC connection vs brass/no hub....just due to space,

If it is a straight forward installation, either one will work, but if it has to be "tweaked" due to misalingment, then a sch. 40 W&O with a pull-up plug will usually work better.
