The settlement will pay claims for damage caused by failed plumbing systems and the cost to repair or possibly replace plumbing systems that have had two or more leaks. It will also provide some people with up to 18 months past the existing 10 year plumbing system warranty to file a claim.To qualify, you must own or have owned a structure containing an RTI Plumb-PEX Plumbing System containing ASTM standard F1807 brass insert fittings and stainless steel clamps sold by Radiant Technology, Inc.(“RTI”) or Uponor, Inc. and installed on or after May 15, 1999:
  • That had a leak in an RTI Plumb-PEX Plumbing System component; or
  • Be able to show a 50% reduction in water flow between the hot and cold lines to at least one fixture.
People and entities that paid for damages or repairs caused by a leak in an RTI Plumb-PEXPlumbing System component may also qualify for a payment.

But pex is so much better than copper. How can this sort of thing happen? LOL Memories of Poly B swim in my head. When was the last class action suit lost by a copper manufacturer?
 
Don't jump all over me or get me wrong. I believe copper is still the best material for water lines. But the reason you don't see any class action suites against copper is because there it no warranty on it.

Just curious are slab leaks covered? Because repair at least 4 per mouth that are under 50 years old.
