I recently replaced an old bathroom vanity. In replacing the vanity I also put in a new sink with all drain lines. The water drains out very slowly-and I mean slowly. Perhaps 15 to 30 minutes. I snaked the drain even through it worked good before I started the project. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you snaked the drain, then it would be draining now.
How did you do it and what kind of snake did you use?

Thanks for your response. I used a power snake. I also used some drain cleaner. Neither thing seems to help. It drains out very slowly. As I said before this problem didn't happen until I put a new sink with all new drain in. I thought at first by changing the drain (which by the way goes throug the wall) I may have broke loose some stuff in the drain but after using a power snake and drain cleaner it still drains very slowly.

When you put in the new sink and vanity, how did the height of the drains compare? ARe you trying to drain it up? It needs to come down to the p-trap then horizontal the the drain thatgoes down. Does it have a vent nearby? If it tries to go up after the p-trap, it won't work properly.

When was your house built and is the toilet next to the sink?
