If any of you haven't had the pleasure of doing your taxes yet, I recommend without a doubt using, TaxAct.com. Boy, it is almost too easy. I love, absolutely, love doing taxes, so it kind of takes my fun away. :( I love the challenge.

Especially, if it is not my return, lol.

Now, I don't know if you good people know this or not, but, H&R Block will do a second-look for free. I did a tax for someone which was kind of tricky, and, so, to be sure... I carted it down to the them, and they looked at it, and everything was fine with the return, and how funny, it was when, the agent said, " how would you like to work for us?" So, being, I had given some thought to actually, doing taxes on the side I told her, yeah. So, now, I will be taking classes after Labor day. I do them now for fun. Jimbo, I could do your taxes for you, you too, Don. :) I hear the prison food is good, kind of like airline food. Let me know. I won't charge much. lol. JUST kidding...

By the way, I bought gas and, I rapped on the pump thinking I could lower the price. :) I thought the gauge was stuck. Pretty high almost 4 a pop for unleaded.

That reminds me when a Tax man told me that I was short about $100 to claim a much bigger refund.

I was told just to claim a charitable deduction, the IRS will never know. I said no thanks that would be stealing.

Guess that is why Receipts are required now a days.

What comes around goes around. And NOTHING is TRULY free.

In the business world, I guess nothing is ever free, always a price one pays. In most walks of life, the cost is hidden. But, it is sometimes as good as it gets; but everyone should do their 2 cents worth to make it a better life for someone else. That is priceless.

I claim each year, 75.00 because I write checks out to certain organizations. It is always the same. It goes to soup kitchens. I donate money to those a dollar here, and there, a five to one man asking for money with a dog on leash, standing on an intersection; but, I do not recognize any of that money as a claim, nor, church money, money put in a basket, just the check I write. I don't use donation slips to the Goodwill either. I don't use any of that as a claim either. I think, there are tons of people like me, and, I think, the reason why the IRS wants receipts now, is because they are greedy, lol. I think, it is the other way around. Just my opinion, I might be wrong, and Jim could be right. But, just so you know, if I do your taxes you could use my bill as a deduction, and, you could pay me 100 and write a thousand. KIDDING! LOL.

I got this thing with my stomach, lol, and, I am a picky eater.

80 % of my property taxes go for school taxes.

I own property that has no House no kids that I pay School taxes on.

They want too cut School teachers from the budget ? I just do not get it.

I am just going to quit paying School taxes, Until they put the money where it belongs. Others should do the same.

People without kids in school, should not have to pay school taxes. Period. We were trying to have a kid for 3 years, and all the while paying school taxes. When we headed to the doctor to start on fertility drugs, the doctor asked me why I wanted to do this. I told him, " well, we are paying school taxes I might as well, make it count." :) And, I am not being anything but fair, and I can prove that by saying, I am subbing.

What could be done is to give the option of whether you want to support the school district. Many people probably would, okay maybe, some people would, but, more importantly, it gives people a choice. Either way. Some can't afford this tax, should not have to stress over paying something which doesn't apply.

Cookie, Here in Houston the Mayor is making it illegal to feed the homeless.

If you get caught, you get a fine.

I think that she has been down on the muffin too long.

That is one heck of a way to get revenue for the city of Houston. And the homeless get punished also.

Wow. That is beyond mean, she should call her new law, The Cruel Law. I don't think she and I would get along very well. I think, it was the second date I had with Tim, waaaay back in 1980, when, I knew I wanted to marry this man and the reason? I will tell you the reason, lol. We stopped at a 7-11, and he ran in to buy a pack of cigerettes, this was dead of winter, so, I waited in the car. I noticed something different about him when he came back out. He didn't have his coat on. I was sitting there looking at him, knowing fully-well, this man had a coat on. I wasn't crazy. So, I said, " where's your coat?" He said and I remember this to the word, " don't worry about it." I looked out the window just in time to see a rather ragged looking man wearing his coat, walking down the parking lot. That was when, the moment to be exact, I knew this guy was for me. I just could never know if I liked him more or loved him more, I was that crazy about him.

Down the road, I was starting to kid him, saying, " where's that coat at?" lol. Eventually, he said, " I got alot of coats, someone didn't have one."

You got people like him in this world, and shamefully, got people like the woman you described. Imagine, how wonderful a world this would be if everyone thought of the next guy, and not let him go hungry, or cold, or homeless or sick. No matter how little someone can give, that little could matter so much more than anyone would ever imagine to someone who has nothing. Not a slice of bread to eat, nothing.

I used to work at a place where my girlfriends and I would sit outside and eat our lunches. They would always wonder why I packed 6 sandwiches, they thought I was a pig or should enlist into Overeaters A., until, they saw I gave my lunch away. Like I told them, giving is good for the waistline and increases longevity and nagged them until, they gave in with their lunch to some others nearby, including all the birds walking about. :)

I hope that woman mayor enacting that law never finds herself in a place where she may regret her decision. It might be a hard pill to swallow. There's one thing, I will never be, rich.

I was a really lucky lady to have met him.
Every year after we got married, we would take our income tax refund check and donate it to the soup kitchens.
He volunteered to cook but, I had to stop him, cause between the 2 of us, we couldn't boil water. :) I told him, to give those people a break, their life is hard enough. I remembered when he tried to make stuff manicoti, those things were so hard you could had built walls with them. And, I make 2 types of chicken, what he called, either blood chicken (this was deadly) lol, or rubber chicken. It got so bad, that the supermarkets wouldn't sell me chicken anymore. The Colonels is by far, a lot better.

He would call at lunchtime asking what's for dinner. I would say, " chicken." He would say, " blood or rubber?" I would say, " which do you prefer?" He would say, thinking... " rubber, I don't want the skitters." LOL.

If you and Bob want, I can ship some out. :) Cookie, thanks, but I think I'll pass on your chicken delites.

Somone wrote a joke about how (down South) bad things are these days that so few people go to churches anymore, and one lady said while being interviewed "that's right, my friend, we all go to Popeye's for our chicken these days" lol

I had some fried Jumbo shrimp that had been caught literally 30 minutes earlier in Destin,Fl. The boats pulled up to the end of the pier and unloaded the shrimp and they cooked it at the shore end of the pier. 5 bucks for a plate full.

The freshest fish I ever had was still flopping in the bottom of the boat. Cut a slice of a live yellow fin tuna and ate it raw. I like it better cooked and the guy had a grill on the boat.

If you have never had really fresh seafood then you really dont know what your missing.

Here is a link to some pics of the place. Its really just a shack at the shore end of a pier. The boats pull right up to unload the fish and shrimp.

Hackney, the best food I ever had in my life was found in a hole in the wall, in Tuscaloosa, Al, a place infamous to all there, called, Archibalds. Served only pork, ribs or on white bread, with there homemade sauce. Fantastic. It put Dreamland or anyother place to shame.

That is funny.

Girls are the way to go for me.

I never did like Fruit Cakes...

Don, when I was a pre teen and then a teenager, I did not like gay people, and thought they chose to be that way, but as I got older and grew up, I realized that they are born that way, and don't chose to be that way. I have learned to accept them. I'm not saying I feel real comfortable associating with them amongst friends, although some friends have friends that are that way, and I do have some at work that are fine amongst the rest of us. I wish I were even better about it, but I am what I am. I do believe that God loves them as much as the rest of us, depite what the Bible says (a His-tory book written by men as to how they interpreted things). I was not there at Sodom and Gomorrah, were you?

I have heard it all now,

A lady in Houston got fined for Feeding a Stray Dog.

It is against the law to Give a Stray Dog Water.

I am glad I do not live in the Houston City Limits.

Don't give a homeless person money either, or pay a fine.

This Houston Mayor is a real work of art.

I think she needs to go back in the closet...

Have a Great Day.

What a miserable person. She must be quite unhappy. This will sound mean I guess, but, sometimes, people like that need to experience the other half of life in order to know gratitude and happiness. I have come across such mean people I can't tell ya, one actually said to me, " I want to be mean." I told her this, " I want to be mean, too." and, I walked away laughing. She was serious. I wasn't. I know people honestly, that would not give the sweat off their brow to another human being let alone a dog, which they probably would kick instead, of give food or water to. Probably, Don, getting the big C was the best thing that happened to me, for it made me realize how lucky I am, and, I get so discriminated against at times, I feel lucky to be able to weed out the humans and non-humans. I could care less about someone's sexual chosing, that has never been an issue with me. I don't care if she likes women or men, she just sounds miserable and I am surprised if she has a love life at all. I don't know who would want her.

If you want to hear something funny about romance listen to this. A co worker said once to me, sometime ago, after I started dating the doctor, " you must be a hot little thing." WHAT! I said, " what did you just say?" I was not laughing, I was insulted. She went on saying that being I got cancer, it must be something else you got going for you. WHOA! I said to her, " yeah, it is called, attitude, I got a great attitude, a nice out going personality and I am KIND TO people and I LAUGH and, enjoy life!" See, she sucks. She can't laugh, she has a lousy attitude about everything. She can't get a date. She is younger than me by about maybe 5 years, she is divorced, she is tall, thin blonde and she thinks, it is all about looks. She tells me, I am too short...my hair is too red, ( i love my chemo red hair) and, who would want someone with your health problems... UNLESS, you are ... and she said, this, " putting out." WOW... now talk about MEAN.. and rude, and wrong... But, I laughed at her. She had a date once ( once) and was upset cause he didn't dress nicer. It was funny, I asked her what she expected him to dress like, a tux maybe? :)

People are unreal at times. I feel sorry for them, their is so much to be happy about, why they waste their lives is beyond me. I think too many people just got too much time on their hands. People should volunteer somewhere, a hospital will tune those up who think life is all about them.

I always imagine if those types of people would put all that misused energy into something productive what they could do instead, of tearing down.

I remember years ago, wanting to see sign language be offered in the schools, not to replace the standard Chinese, Russian and Spanish, but added as a choice to the students. Boy, I was shot down by those who couldn't see the forest through the trees. I heard the most ignorant remarks, ie, "it really isn't a language" duh, maybe, by those having to use it, it is. I think, there are by far many more deaf people in our community than those speaking Mandarin Chinese.

I noticed the other day, our ATM added yet, another "official" language, but, I still, fail to see anything for the blind.

This was so funny ... I had this happen to me tonite at work, where I work a part time job. It is 1 :30 am, and I am still laughing. Here goes,

In comes a doctor and his wife. He wants a new lab jacket, 2 of them, and he wants them monogramed. No problem. Until, he starts to go to fill out the form for it. It is elementary. Basic. SImple. I had to love this guy. He is going on a photo shoot and wants to look nice. So, he is filling out this form, and he is not doing it right. I said, " you are not doing it right." I explain why so. His wife understands, and says, " you are not doing it right." He can't figure out what he is doing wrong. I said, " the monogramer is going to think, you want all caps" adding, you got to do it this way. So, now he messes up, a letter in his name, he scratches it out, and tries to write over it, I said, " you can't do that, the monogamer is going to get confused." He said, " can I get rid of this page, and, start over?" I flipped the page saying, " this is my last book, " I was kidding him;, and, he started to do it wrong again. I said, " you are doing it wrong." Wife said, " you are doing it wrong." I said, laughingly, " you are not going to operate on me." He said, " you don't have a prostrate" I said, " how do you know, I could be a good looking man." We all are laughing. So, he said, when done, " how is this?" I said, " it is wrong." So, now, I am writing above the letters... this, Big S, little letters, Big L for middle initial, Last name... Big letter, little letters... He said, " MD" do I put a period there? I said, " you are never going to operate on me."

Now, I ring up the jackets, ring up the monograming charges, but, he is taking one with him, and going to bring it back later for monograming, he needs one for a photo shoot. I said, " you can't do that, it will confuse the monogramer" putting one a bag. I said, " she is like 100 years old."

Then, I find out, he knows my doctor, he is a radiation oncologist, they are associates, oh, that should be fun. :)

So, now, I got to figure out tomorrow, how to get this right. It was so funny. I had to love him. On his paperwork, it looks like a K- kid did it. I know I am going to hear about this mess, but, the laugh was worth it, and there was no way to change his mind, he was very insistent he was right. I really thought he was funny. Doctors can be so funny.

In the past, on the years I have been diagnosed, on chemo, I always just worked a part time job. This one year, the year when the planes was flown into our buildings in NY, I was working in a pharmacy as a tech. Well, it was crazy that day of course, people coming in buying ample extra medical supplies, water, which worried us, because we needed the distilled water to mix compounds. In comes this doctor in the madhouse and, he said, he wanted the choice drug of the time which everyone was an antibotic, Cipro, so, not thinking, I grabbed one of those bags that you put the meds in to give to a customer and started writing out the prescription for the doctor. The doctor on the other side of the counter, didn't realize it either, I didn't realize what was going on, either. There I am asking how the mg, how many days, by mouth, and, then, I laid it for the pharmacist to fill. She filled it, too.

It was the pharmacist who after she filled it noticed that it was written by a tech for a doctor on a bag. In the midst of the planes in NY, there was the 3 of us, laughing our butts off. And, it was written beautifully.

I am eventually leaving this part time job, no need to get my face ripped off now, I stepped up, to getting my chances of getting shot.

When someone asks me what do I do for a living, I just say, " I don't know." Do you remember the old tv show, where the one man was all positions in town? He was the chief of police, the fire chief, the store keeper.... can't remember the name of the show, but, I wear many hats. Today, I watched the neighbor who threw the white stuff in my garden, I watched her open a gate she had installed in her fence, and come into my yard and start to clear out her hedges. She then, threw them, in the probably less than one foot of property she owns behind the cyclone fence. Nice.

I decided to go tomorrow, I don't know what comes out of this furnace but, I told my son, it would be a new experience and maybe, some fun, eh. He asked me, if I would play a part, if asked, and, I told him this and he nearly, fell over... I told him, " yeah, I would like to be a prostitute." Something completely out of character! Cookie, if you have the resources, I would install another fence within your property lines by a foot or so too, so you can have a de-militarized zone and not have to look at her crap your fence should be higher than hers if zoning allows.

He didn't expect that, and was laughing. So, who knows, maybe I will be discovered or find a new career :) ONLY kidding... at least I wouldn't have to pay taxes, right? That's funny! You won't have to pay taxes (unless it becomes legalized), but you'll have to pay that guy who wears a rooster hat and has a raccon tail at the rear of his pimp-mobile. Also, the tax of STD's (also just kidding):p

Cookie, if you have the resources, I would install another fence within your property lines by a foot or so too, so you can have a de-militarized zone and not have to look at her crap your fence should be higher than hers if zoning allows.

I gave that some thought. A tall stockade fence. But, is that the answer to it, probably, not. Just another unneeded expense. Some people were just born ignorant.

Forgot about him, lol. I was going to go, but, it looks like rain out there. :) I don't do rain well.

Instead of doing the casting call for being a prostitute I did my laundry. I should had gone to the casting call. I threw a load of wash in the dryer, setting it on ultimate dry, and cranked up the washer and then, GO BOOM! BANG! AND, A HUGE FLASH... The entire house went dark, but, it didn't trip the main. Hm. I called the light company and they were sending someone out. He found everything was dead. Nothing. No voltage. So, he went up to the transformer in his bucket and when he came back down he told me, I blew a wire off when I turned on the dryer, lol. I deadened my neighbors as well, who was outside looking, and when the power came back on my neighbors grandkids started to clap, the man was a hero, and I was a bad bad person. :) In all fairness though, he said the plate was missing which held on the wire, and he is sending out someone to replace the transformer. I asked if he could maybe, put it on my neighbor's pole, she does a lot less laundry. He said, " no," adding, " GOOD try."

Then, my phones, tv and net wasn't working. I spent a long time, on another phone trying to get this fixed. Then, it dawned me, where it plugs in at, works on a switch! I should had went on the casting call. But, I guess, this would had just happened at some other time, eh. What a waste of a day.

And, that plate? Um, I found it last week, I thought it was a car part, laying in my driveway. :) I even took it to a mechanic and he said, " don't know what it is, must not be important."

I got this very strange and unusual life. I asked him when he was taking apart the circuit breaker box, the outside box, if I could check with him, because I do home inspections, etc, he said, he didn't care, I was going to ask if I could ride his bucket up and wear his hard hat, but, I have a feeling that would not had gone over well.

Now, Terry, this story you are about to read is true, not a word is embellished. :)
I had company today, this morning before work, and, I told this person that I have learned to make very good coffee. My friend waited in the livingroom, while I made it in the kitchen, and I like forgot to put the pot all the way under the top of it, where it drips from. For some reason, maybe due to age, and this repeatedly, happening, it started smoking really bad. It started to like smolder. So, I unplugged it and ran past my friend sitting on the sofa, and was running outside with it, when I guess I startled my 24 year old cat, who is nearly, blind, and, he wrapped himself around the calf of my leg, and I was standing there trying to shake him off, while holding the smoking, smoldering coffee maker.

I acted like nothing was happening the best I could.

Back in the kitchen, I had to use a strainer on the coffee for all the grinds got in it, plus, it wasn't done brewing and so, I had to add hot water from the sink. I have a feeling he won't be back.

You see, I couldn't shake Bob, too hard, for in human years he would be maybe, 140 years old, older than dirt. I could shake his bones loose. Plus, he was sinking what teeth he had left into my leg. The indents on my leg shows where he lost a few teeth, their are gaps.

I don't date well.

I once had this bag of popcorn, that set on fire in the microwave. I had construction men on the porch repointing the mortar, when, I flung open the door and thew a bag of flames out. :) Boy, were they were surprised.

I would had thrown it into the sink, but, I had stuff soaking in bleach, and I wasn't sure, how that would combine. :)

Now, I thought those things were pretty funny, lol. I still laugh at the flaming popcorn bag. :)

I got a new transformer this morning! Bright and early when the coffee was brewing ( new coffee maker) it shut off half-way through, due to loss of power. Boy, they are on the ball. They closed off my road, and shut off everyone's power, I imagine, all their coffee makers, too. Ah, heck, I should had asked them, if that thing I found in the driveway was part of the plate. Shucks, I forgot.

Oh, Cookie, what a boring life I live compared to yours:). I've been re-doing my master bathroom for close to a year now: http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=94744 . On the last page, you can see its almost done. Not quite done, but close. It looks really nice, and my wife is very pleased with it, so that makes me very happy. I did not post any "before" pictures there, but it is a drastic change, very drastic.
Actually, the latest pictures are here at Terry's somewhere: http://www.terrylove.com/forums/showthread.php?46521-Kraus-Faucet-into-a-Toto-Promenade-Pedestal-Lavatory&p=339788&highlight=#post339788:cool:

You are doing great work, and I love the look. It is crisp looking and has a nice flair. How much more to go? Regarding, my life it can be very boring, just most of the time, it is busy. I had a long day, spending 2 hours at the doctors for PTSS, which I suffer with and which, wears me out; hopefully, someday I can fix it.

My neighbor age 86, came over and wanted to know, ( laughingly) what type of dryer I have. I told her, " big, it is big, huge, massive, and can peel the paint off of walls." Told her, that it dries the clothes until, they fall apart, lol. Everyone was affected by this. The light company had to go around I found out by my neighbor and had to ask if it was okay, if the power would be off for about an hour. Most asked what happened, and, the light company told them, that I turned on my dryer and blew the wire off. To this light company I say, THANKS! :)

I knew your pictures reminded me of something, and I couldn't put my finger on it. But, I recently, showed a house whose bath had a vintage look, really nice. Kind of reminded me of yours. This house was in the Villas and, mega bucks.

This house was in the Villas and, mega bucks. My neighborhood was always a working class type where there was some pride in the way most people kept the outside of their houses and properties decent. Past couple of years, it seems like its becoming a white trash redneck area where peoples front lawns look like Sanford and Son's back yard. Man, I loved that show!
The little details seem to be the most time consuming. Maybe another week of part time efforts to finish it.

Thanks for the compliments Cookie

This continues to be the only website where my cursor gets stuck for periods of time. What's up with that Terry?

To me, that is the cozy look, lol. If I described a home like you said, I would write up maybe this: Nice cozy home with a comfortable feeling inside or out. :)
Lots of storage space, ideal for a collector.

( I'm good aren't I?) lol.

I was watching the Hellman's station on tv. I don't know if you get that station, but, they give out chicken recipes. The store yesterday lost their head and sold me ... chicken. So, I am going to try this:

Crispy Parmesan Chicken

1/2 C. of Hellmans
1/4 C of Parmesan cheese
Mix that.

Put 4 chicken breasts in pan
Spread this mixture on the top of the chicken
Then, sprinkle 4 Tbsp of Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs ontop

If you add more, it will make it crispier. Bake at a pre-heated oven, at 425, for 20 minutes or until, done.

I am going to try this. If this works out and no one gets sick ( :) ) I will make another recipe I got from the tv, called, BBQ Nuggets.

I am heading to the kitchen, I think that room is called, with my apron and hardhat.

Sounds like your new husband will be a happy man.

I love some good home cooking.

The new gen wife can push the microwave button, if you show them what button to push.

I like home cooking, too, just not mine. There is alot to be said about eating out. I order very well, either dining in or taking out. I do well, even over the phone. I am your person for this. I had one of those microwaves you said, you push a button? Well, I pushed that button that said, " chicken" I came back 40 minutes later and still, nothing was in there.

Mine was defective.

The chicken was delectable! I can't believe I cooked this, lol. I should take a picture and frame this, :) Next, BBQ nuggets.
Bob tell your wife to try making this, I am going to make it for Easter. I can't wait to tell everyone I will be making chicken. :)

Won't they be surprised. lol. and, I bet very happy. I can see them all, sitting there staring down at their plates, lol. I will say, " eat, eat, don't be shy."

They were something to watch on TV, especially the videos of those trailers flying up a couple of hundred feet in the air. Thank God nobody was killed there in Dallas.

Unbelieveable stength and force. Nothing like it. My husband and I experienced 5 of them in our lifetime. I hope to God, I never, ever see another. One we actually out drove, he did some fancy driving that day. I was laying on the floor behind the seats ontop our young sons that day. Scary. It was bearing right down on us, and we were in the mountains on a windy road yet. That one, took out half the mountainside. It appeared out of nowhere, no warning of anykind and no place to go. We were so very lucky that day. The other time was in 98, I just got home from the hospital and my arm was in a sling, I was just told that day, I had the Big C. I was standing in front of our large kitchen window looking out and saw the most amazing clouds. They were like numerous marshmallow-shaped clouds, kind of like parachutes, and was low, and the colors ranged from orange to whatever. I told my husband to come look at this. Later, we found out they were, supercelled. Tornado. Well, we walked downback and looked up at these amazing clouds and, then the hail started, and we then, knew, something was pending. Upstairs he ran to get the boys and we were in our basement listening to exactly, a freight train going by. I got angry. I opened the garage door and was standing in the driveway, ( doing the stupidest thing I ever did in my life) and saw not one, but 3 sidewinders in the not far off distance going by, they looked like they were dancing. This was a bad day for me. And, with my good arm, I raised it like Scarlett Ohara in the movie, Gone with the Wind, and said, " I swear to God, I will beat this!" and, next I knew my husband was pushing me back into the garage. I still laugh thinking how silly I was, and stupid, and angry. The other twister we experienced in Alambama. Nothing eventful with it other than we had to hide in a trench in the woods, and we prayed. Prayed like crazy. The boys again, was young, but, old enough to know, it was dangerous. Oh, the destruction they are capable of doing. The 3 side winders, again, took out part of a mountain, a different one, but, created havoc on homeowners. We were lucky again. The winds made a mess, but, left our house virtually alone, but, the hail took out our hostas, and other landscaped areas. The hail was big. My husband kept a piece in the freezer for a long long time, until, an unusal heat wave knocked out our electricity for a week, and it melted. I feel for those people, I truly know what the fear feels like, one which, you have absolutely, no control over. No one controls Mother Nature and her sometime, fury.
