Replace 1950's faucet

Here is a 1950's American Standard bathroom sink, the faucet (on the hot side, of course ) leaks - and the angle stop doesn't close all the way.






The faucets are 6" OC.

I need a temporary fix - this bath is the only one active as I am STILL working on the other bath.
Which would be the most cost effective way to go:

1- Replace the faucets, if anyone knows where I can get them. The supplyhouse doesn't have them, it was suggested I try Sears - sears.com did not have them.

2- Replace the whole sink with a low budget cabinet, sink and faucets.

3- Move. The whole family, we just up and move.

These are the choices as I see them....any thoughts?

Any halfway decent hardware or plumbing parts store will have the seat and faucet washer that you need. At the worst you might need a stem, but not likely, which should also be fairly easy to find or order as long as you take the old one with you.

Are you saying that NJ has no "decent hardware or plumbing parts store"

Perhaps you asked for a complete faucet rather than repair parts. These look to be pretty standard, albeit old, fixtures so most hardware stores should have repair parts.

its best to try to make a repair on
that faucet and leave it alone

I never touch that brand very much anymore except to
occasionally make temp reapirs to one or tear it out and install
a normal china lavatory with a Delta faucet


I would NEVER ever attempt to change out that faucet
because no one makes a decent replacement faucet that
wil last very long time, all you will find is junk made
in Tiawan ect....

and its
a pretty rough job to do without takeing it completely off the wall


and if you are takeing it off the wall anyway,
I suggest you juust opt to
install a new wall hung style china lavatory with a ADA high back
on it to cover the old spots on the tile wall and new facuet...

It wont cost you all that much more
you wil be waaaayyyyy ahead of the game

No, but I am saying that Home Depot and those like them, do not have a "decent" parts assortment. Their parts catalog has a large assorment, probably the one you need, but they only carry the items that they sell a lot of. You need a store that has a large assorment of parts, even the less used ones.
