Low water pressure at the garden hose

I seem to have low water pressure when I use my outdoor garden hose. When I use my sprinklers, the water barely shoots out. I am trying to diagnose where the problem resides. I know that the line servicing the outdoor faucet is a 1/2" pipe (it says so on the jacket). I have the shut off value fully opened. My garden hose has an outer diameter of 3/4" based on a tape measure vs. a caliber. Does anyone know where the problem may be? Thanks.

You don't say how long the runs of pipe and hose are nor what the pressure is. Is this city water or well?

You can pick up a water pressure gauge for around $10 that will screw onto the hose bib so you can check what the pressure actually is. I think that may be the best first step. A 1/2" line is good for about a max of 5-6gpm. Compare that with the specs of the sprinkler you have. It would be better if they line was 3/4" which could nearly double that flow rate. You need ot determine if it is a flow or pressure problem, or both. The gauge will help.

What do you mean "on the jacket"? What kind of pipe is it? If it is a plastic pipe it probably only has about a 3/8" i.d., regardless of what the "jacket" says.
