Extending Length of Toilet Drain

I have recently put a subfloor in a basement bathroom. I need to extend the current Toilet Drain appx 3 Inches in length. Can anyone let me know how best to do this.

You should be able to extend it by cutting the pipe and adding two coupling's between with a piece of pipe to make up the differance in lenght

What type of pipe is it and what size?
