Any issues with changing the location of the existing pressure tank during a basement remodel? The current tank is in one corner of the basement where the well pipe comes in; the rest of the mechanical systems (furnace, hot water heater, sump pump, etc.) are located in the opposite corner (about 24 feet away). Would the extra piping required create excessive pressure drop? Assuming a junction box to extend the pump wires?

As it stands now, we would have to frame a corner closet around the pressure tank, just seems like it would be cleaner to move the tank to a "mechanical room" type of scenario.

Thanks!

The pressure tank can be almost anywhere as long as the pressure switch is near the tank. If you are wanting to gain space consider installing a Pside-Kick. It's a small tank with a Cycle Stop Valve and all components (it's all that you need in todays technology) plus it will give you constant pressure (like city pressure).

Thanks Porky....that Pside-kick looks interesting, looks like I have some homework to do!
