Spend the 800 million closer to home to stop the drugs. The problem is that it costs that much just to keep the drug dealers in prison.

They are a key ally in the war on terror and also a poor country so you'd best make the payment if you want your servicemen to come home and/or keep the fight there instead of it coming here (which is really what the whole of US policy is about).

Not to mention Pakistan's nuclear weapons.

Your guys ain't as well trained as ours so they need all the help they can get.

On drugs, America needs to ignore the churches and legalize the lot. Then tax them and put more money into education campaigns to stop people using them. Under 21s should be prohibited from purchasing drugs of course.

Your laws are what make illegal drugs so profitable!

I would rather my child (aged over 21) buy marijuana from a pharmacey where the product is controlled and has been tested than from a drug dealer with links to the criminal world.

Absolutely not! You wouldn't sell liqour to a minor would you?

But to an adult who is over 21 years of age, yes.

That way addicts could access treatment more easily (it would no longer be illegal for them to use and you could target them at the phramacy) and there would be fewer overdoses caused by "bad' batches of drugs.

Legalize.

And skip this talk of technical training schools. You just need better training whether it be plumbers, bankers or Ballvalve-ballet dancers.

And I wanted to be a ballet dancer as a kid, but figured the money was'nt there. Or my ankles. Saw a few nice ballets in Kiev and Prague however.

Nothing wrong with a tech school as long as it is just one. You need balance to have a full spectrum of skills.
