I have a 1-1/2 drain from a tub connecting to 1-1/2 galv with a slip, then making a 90, going 8" horizontally (still 1-1/2") then another 90 down into a 2 " trap.
Apparently the tub was shifted over about 8" from the original placement. Would this meet any of the codes, or do I need to replace the 1-1/2" horizontal piece and the 2 ell's with 2"

thanks if advance for all of your advice.

Most codes call for it to drop directly into the trap, but quite often the tub is not where its drain was originally planned for. In that case, the drain may either be offset or the waste and overflow assembly modified to compensate for it. Are you having a problem with it? Those extra 90's may create a problem if it becomes obstructed and needs to be snaked.

Hi Hj,

I am not having problems with it right now, but everything is demo'd for a new tub and i want to do it right.
