Teflon on supply lines

I'm installing a Jado faucet in our bathroom. It has a separate spout and valves. The valves and spout are connected with braided lines and the male ends on the valves and spout are flat. There is a fiber or rubber washer in the supply lines. Should I wrap the threads with teflon tape or use any type of thread compound? Will the teflon interfere with the connection?

Also, the supply lines from the hot/cold shutoff valves are braided lines as well. The male ends on the valve stems are not flat on these. Should I use teflon on the threads?

Generally speaking if there are fiber or rubber or "O" rings then no tape is necessary. Even with a flaired compression type if the joints were properly ground when manufactured then you shouldn't need anything but I would put just a dab of teflon dope on the ends and call it a day.

Don't put anything on the threads.



Supply lines already have seals on both ends. Using tape can prevent a good seal.
