two pumps feeding one house

i would like to run two submersibles from two different wells but only using 1 line into the house, install an electrical switch outside to choose only one pump at a time,,, will the pump that is not active stand up to the back pressure of the running pump , ( trying not to install valves below the frost line to deal with ) any thoughts would be appreciated,
