I have a mountain cabin that has a persistent sewer gas smell presumably from a down draft off the vent on the roof. My contractor suggests that an AAvalve would solve the problem but I can't find one that is used outdoors. I want to put it on the existing vent. Suggestions?

try extending it a few feet, if that don't solve it, then add on a 135 degree fitting. ( 90 + 45)

That awful smell is coming from your roof top vent pipe...because thats the way they are designed. Sweetfilters easily slide over existing roof vents, drains, and manholes to eliminate septic odors for up to 5 years. Simply go to www.Sweetfilter.com
