I am replacing a shower pan but I can't install from below because the crawl space was recently spray foamed and insulated. Does anyone have experience with either the wingtite or the BruCo? They rely on an o-ring and silicone. How long will the silicone last before it starts to break down?

many thanks!
Justin

I have used several WingTite drains and they have worked so far.

About 5 years. The hardest part of the job is usually getting the old drain out of the shower. But after rereading your post, why can't you install the drain on the pan before you set it in place? The WingTite is used to replace drains in showers where you do NOT want to replace the pan and do not have access from below.
