We are moving soon and both of the houses we are looking at are older ones. Each has a bathroom that has a standard porcelain tub but no shower. How easy/hard is it, usually, to add a shower head in that situation? Can a shower converter of some sort be used or is it necessary to be able to install plumbing in the wall for it? Please point me in the right direction if this has been addressed somewhere already. Thanks.

Your problem was just addressed recently. Go to the bottom of this page click on Archive > Shower and Tub > Answer # 40. If this doesn't help, post again. I'm always glad to share my ignorance.
