Thermal-Auricular Ear therapy is an alternative medicine practice claimed to improve general health and well-being by lighting one end of a hollow candle and placing the other end in the ear canal.

How can ear candling help me?

Dry hacking cough
Many coughs are a direct result of a sinus infection. The inner ear and small sinus cavities get blocked with mucus and infection sets in. Ear Candling helps drain and dry out the small, dark places where germs live and multiply.

Sinus headaches
Blockages in the inner ear or sinus cavities can cause pressure to build. Ear Candling can help to open blocked passages.

Tinnitus
Ringing in the ears can be a cause of dehydration coupled with wax buildup. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of pure water per day. Then the Ear Candling procedure can help break down the wax.
Itchy ears

This could be caused from an abundance of yeast in the body, creating a situation of Candida (too much sugar in the body). The Candida starting in the intestines and traveling up into the Eustachian tube, can get into the sinus and ear canal. Ear Candling helps to dry out these areas.

How does it work?
It is believed as the candle burns, gentle warm smoke is drawn into the ear canal that softens and loosens Candida, wax, and other debris through osmosis. This means anything on the other side of the eardrum turns into a gas form to pass through the ear drum membrane. It is then collected into the remaining unburned portion of the candle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ear candling for everyone?
No! You should not have ear candling performed if you have any damage to the eardrum, ear tubes, congenital hearing loss, alkalosis of the stapes, acute mastoiditis, or recent surgical procedures to the ear.
What can I expect after an ear candling session?
You may, for a short time, feel a bit of pressure in your ears following a session. This is normal. We recommend you not fly or get fluid in your ears for 24 hours after a candling session.

Is it guaranteed to work?
While many find ear candling to be an effective procedure, everyone is different and we can't guarantee results.

How often should I have ear candling done?
It’s good to do the procedure quarterly or twice a year. If you feel like you may be coming down with a cold or virus, you should candle at that time and the healing process will start right away! This aids the immune system in healing.
Will ear candling cure an ear infection?
If you suspect that you have an inner ear infection, we recommend that you see your doctor. Ear candling is not intended to replace medical treatment.

Can infants be ear candled?
Absolutely! All age groups may enjoy this procedure.

Is ear candling painful?
Not at all; in fact, many report the experience is surprisingly relaxing and soothing. You may hear crackling sounds during your session - this is normal, and not uncomfortable.
If I buy the candles, can I ear candle myself?
You should always have someone perform this procedure for you, as the flame could be hazardous if not properly managed. As a certified ear hygienist trained in this procedure, I’m familiar with all safety aspects, as well as the proper fitting of the candle and treatment schedules.

Testimonials

I had vertigo for two months and the day after Sharon's ear candling session, it was gone. I had a directional hearing problem in my left ear that was also alleviated after the session.
- Ruth

I've had problems with my ears since my youth. I remember having several ear infections as a boy and as I grew up, I noticed moderate changes and discomfort in my ears throughout my adult life. The ear candling session with Sharon immediately alleviated the wax build-up. Right away there was a noticeable improvement in my hearing.
- Brian

The Ear Candling session was great and cleared up my sinuses immediately!
- Sue

Procedure:
Step 1
The ear canal is examined to determine the condition of the eardrum and extent of debris in the outer ear canal.
Step 2
A gentle massage is administered to the sinus area and outer ear to stimulate blood flow. A protective cover is placed over the clients head and hair.
Step 3
The candle is then lit and gently, but firmly, placed into the outer ear canal. This creates a vacuum, causing a subtle suction effect.
Step 4
This is a relaxing and meditative experience as the procedure continues. It’s normal to hear a slight crackling or whistling sound as the ear canal warms. Special Note: only the best drip less candles are used. No ash cutting is necessary which makes the experience one of uninterrupted relaxation.
Step 5
The candle is carefully removed and extinguished. 2 to 3 candles are recommended in each ear in one session for maximum benefit. The procedure takes approximately 20-30 mins.

Oh Boy!

What will this candle do if I put it where the sun don't shine and light it up after eating a buch of broccoli and brussel sprouts?

Who has done this? A buddy of mine is Italian and swears by it. I'm sure I have read a horror story or two a few years back.

I have had good luck with Olive Oil and cotton balls...

I would love to try it - But I'm chicken....

I nearly forgot about my mom doing it. But, I was plagued with ear infections growing up, and she would drip either warm oil or wax in my ear. I don't know which, and she is gone, so no one I can ask. Being, that I have hearing problems, I am not so I would recommend it.
