Just wondering (another dumb idea) if 1/2" PVC can be used for the shower lines where there is now 1/2" copper?
If yes, what would be the connection?

PVC can't be used for supply lines.
They can be CPVC though. You would use a Male adapter either threaded into the valve, or is the valve is a sweat type, you will need to solder on some female adapters.
Plastic fittings should be male.
Female adapters can crack.

Appreciate the input. I suppose the old tried and true copper is the best choice for supply lines in a shower, correct?
