My kitchen sink is very slow draining. I have used drain cleaners and tried a 30 foot snake to no avail. All the bathroom drains fine. Any ideas to my problem or a solution before I have to call a plumber and spend a fortune?

Yeah! Forget the drain cleaners. You have a clog and you DIY snake is not horse enough to clear it. Avoid "plumbers" with Rooter in their name and call a real one. Sorry there is no pie in the sky. Sometimes you just have to pay the piper. It's likely you or yours put something in the drain that didn't belong there.

Drain cleaners are useless, and there is NO 30' snake that is adequate for most stoppages, and WHAT do you consider a "fortune" to call a plumber? Most people, including the one who called me at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday night are "ecstatic" to pay what it cost them, to me it does not seem to be a fortune, to get the drain working.

hj, to me a fortune would be $250 or more to clear a clogged drain line in the middle of the afternoon. Ballpark figure, if it is a relatively easy fix how much should it cost me?

Rates vary by region. Here it would be in the neighborhood of $100.00 to $150.00, although I have had "difficult ones" which cost considerably more, but they would have been beyond the abilities of ANY DIYer to unplug anyway. There are some who advertise cheap rates per drain, but since I could, or would, not even start my truck for those amounts, I am not sure if that would be what you actually paid when all was said and done.
