hi there i just bought an older house, 100 years old, this has happened several times and i am not sure if it is serious or just something simple. When i shower i have lots of water but afterwards one of my kids will get in and in about 10 mins the water stops, i try the taps in the kitchen but there is no water to be had....then in about 15 min i have water again. I have a reverse osmosis system by culligan and a water softener as well. There is no time of day this happens either can be morning or evening or afternoon. But always after a large amount of water is used, such as a shower. I know nothing about wells punps or anything in between, so any help will be greatly thankful for. Also we have a fuse panel and i have checked and none of them are blown.
thanks again

With an RO system you should have a clean water storage tank with a booster pump to the house. An RO can't make water very fast, so you have to make it slow and store it until you need it. I am guessing your storage tank after the RO is not big enough.

thanks valveman

thanks very much for the reply, i have found out on further invistigation that the RO system is not, tied into the rest of the house. The reason i found that out is once again i ran out of water and tried the little spigit where the RO is attached and low and behold i have water. The sink and tub/shower did not work and when i turned them on it sounded as they were sucking air. Really strange, i think the house is haunted.....any further ideas?? thanks again for you interested in my thread.

This tells me you are using more water than can be supplied. Your well is probably not producing as much as you are using. You will have to find out how much your well will produce. Then we can decide if you need more pump, or if you need a cistern to store water.

thanks again valveman.....i will do some invistigation into how much water the well produces.....guess i need a plumber...LOL
thanks again Rick
