Short answer-Yes!
Brass-an alloy consisting essentially of copper and zinc in variable proportions.
Many solder fittings, especially for DWV are available in brass. Because brass and copper have different heating characteristics (brass takes longer to reach a particular temperature), care should be taken in making sure that no holidays are apparent in the solder flow.

If you're soldering a brass valve to copper pipe, open the valve first. If using propane (most likely) it will take a bit longer to get the brass hot enough than if using Mapp gas. As stated, brass and copper will solder nicely.
