What is PVC board? In general, PVC is paintable. Is the product you are working with for sure PVC or could it be some other kind of plastic,or have some finish on it? Is it FRP ???

OK, says it is very paintable. So questions would be did you make sure it was fairly clean...no oils or heavy dirt?
Did you prime it? I am guessing it should take paint directly without primer, but primer is always better. Are you using 100% acrylic latex paint?
