View Full Version : ABS pipe Support

I am doing the plumbing for a bathroom addition. The existing DWV line (ABS) runs in the crawlspace on the ground (above grade) for about 25' and then goes under ground. Everything slopes the right way. Is there any reason why that line should be suspended.
I am assuming that code call for support every 4' and 18" near joints to keep the proper slope? Is there any reason why the new pipe should be suspended if laying on the ground has the proper slope?

While I have never seen an installation like the one you describe, as long as the proper slope is maintained and the pipe is not subject to movement, then it should be fine.
