Sometimes our well water stops running in the house. Breaker is not tripped and checking the pressure tank contacts I find them to be closed. The pressure tank gauge shows 0 lbs.--If I throw the well circuit breaker off the preccure tank contacts open---I can immediately throw the breaker back on---the pressure tank contacts close---the pressure gauge jumps to 40 lbs and I have water back. Would appreciate any ideas anyone may have.
----Thanks, Geolec

clean out the tube that runs to the back side of the pressure switch

Make sure the contacts on the switch are not burnt or pitted. Check for voltage at the well head when the contacts are closed. If there is power at the pump and it's not pumping- well, you can figure it out from there.

The thermal overload in the pump seems to be shutting of the pump or the pump is locked up. Either requires electrical troubleshooting.
