I’m hoping you can help me out. I was reading your forum and it sounds like you know your products pretty darn good.

My father-in-law passed away in December and we're fixing up his old house. I measured the distance from the center of the drain to the wall and it's at 8.75 inches. We didn't want to spend $600.00-$700.00 on a 8" toilet.

I'm thinking I could make it a little off center to make it work. I'd like to find a 1.6 gallon and NOT a 1.25 Gallon. I think it would flush better seeing how I may need to get it off center a little. Thoughts.... ?

Do you know of a toilet that will be pretty close to this rough-in? Seems like everyone here just says... Sorry, we can't help you.

Any help would be really appreciated!

I do not care how much money you are willing to spend, I don't think you will find an 8 1/2" toilet anywhere or at any price. HOW to make a conventional toilet work depends on many factors, none of which we know or can determine from here.

Are you measuring from the drywall or the baseboard?

Why not bite the bullet now and have the rough-in changed to 12"? Then your choices on toilets will be unlimited, the job will be done right, work right, and look right. Yeah, I know, you're trying to save some $$$, but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do.
