First, thank you, Terry Love, for hosting this wonderful forum. I used it when I bought two toilets and the advice I received was invaluable.

Second, I want to buy three faucets for two bathrooms on which I am doing a quickie remodel to freshen them up. I hope to remodel them completely in a couple of years so I am trying to economize on this effort. The handles for the faucets which I am trying to replace seem to be independent of the spout. Everything I see for two-handled faucets are called 8" wide-spread. If I understand that correctly, it means that there is 8" between the centers of the handle holes. In my case, there is about 10" between the holes. Is there such a thing as a 10" widespread? Do you think it is possible to find something modern-looking that will fit the holes in my counter for about $100 a set?

Thanks for any help.

Many 8" faucets come with connectors that allow for 10"

I would stay with the major brands.
A/S, Delta, Moen, Price Pfister, Grohe, Hans Grohe

Box brands like WaterRidge, Pegasus tend to be one shot faucets. Parts? I don't think so. I can't even find pdf's on them.

Moen parts breakdown.

AS far as I know there are NO faucets that "require" 8 inches between the openings any longer. That requirement was common back in the 60's, but now all the faucets use hoses which allow the centers to range from 6" to 14" more or less. Therefore, any "wide spread" faucet will fit your sink.
