I have an Arrowhead Frost proof faucet that leaks on an outside brick wall. I have tried numerous washers and still it leaks. I have to use a wrench to get the valve tight enough to shut off the water flow. I want to replace the valve body and not the entire faucet. I do not want to tear out many bricks to get to where it installs inside the wall. I have heard that the valve is soldered to the copper tube and can be removed and replaced with a standard faucet valve. Can this be done and has any plumber ever done it?

In most places, you need an anti-siphon valve outside, and if it freezes there, you'd want a frost-free one as well to prevent what could be a big water damage problem. Without seeing the back end, you wouldn' tknow whether it was screwed in or soldered in.

All of the models have rebuild kits. If the seat is buggered up, a washer won't work. Moen has a frostfree model with a cartridge, similar to their bathroom faucets.
