is it the water pump?

I wanted to water my lawn more - I bought a timer (vigoro) with 2 zones - it did come on for each zone last night for a total of 2 hours. I could hear the pump or the pressure tank coming on and off (?) lately but definatly last night. My pump and pressure tank are only 3 years old (replaced after I was told the actuator burnt out) after I had no water. So, this morning the timer came on and when the sprinklers came on there was very little pressure coming out. I checked out inside the house and the pressure is reduced about 1/3 or more. I supposedly have a really good well so am surprised - what do you think it is? I am so afraid of losing my water and am new at taking care of the house by myself--- my pressure tank reads 60ish.

I would suspect a small blockage of some kind at your new valve. Since your pressure at the tank seems to be where it should be, trying connecting a garden hose somewhere else outside the house and let it run ride open and unrestricted out into your yard and see what happens to your pressure. A good well and pump should be able to maintain around 40 psi with an open garden hose running ... and if yours can do that, then something is restricting the flow either to or at or after your new valve.

It sounds as if the well is pulled down to where the pump can't produce the water volume you are accustomed to.

I would conserve water for a few hours and see if normal flow returns. If so run only one zone of irrigation per night instead of both of them.
