I'm thinking about adding a body spray to the shower that I'm redoing. It will be just one body spray.
Do I need a pressure balancing loop? Or can I just run it off the shower head line with a volume valve?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

If it's just one body spray & one shower head no loop is required.

It is more complicated than that, unless you want the shower head to be working EVERY time you use the body spray. If not then you should use a multiport diverter, and NO volume control valves. There is no way to install a pressure balancing loop with one body spray, and I never do it with multiple heads unless it is an unusual installation.
