I'm needing a little info/advice --
I need to replace a toilet in a condo that is a wall mount -- I have no experience with this kind at all (didn't even know that they made them for residential!). I realize there aren't many choices, American Standard and Kohler and perhaps a few others I haven't seen yet. The one I"m replacing mounts to the wall and discharges out the back, but sits on the floor. Wondering if I need to stay with one resting on the floor? Clearly I'll have to replace the flooring either way because it will never match up the the new toilet base. If I need to stick with one resting on the floor, have any ideas who makes these?

Thanks for any help in this area

Most of the floor mount, rear outlet toilets use the Flushmate pressure assist.

One of those would be the American Standard Yorkville.
Gerber also makes one with the Flushmate and Briggs makes one in the Vacuity line.
I checked Kohler's web site and couldn't bring up one for them.
Their web sites should have pdf files that show what you need for installation.

hmmmm....... the one that is currently there is not pressure assist, regular old gravity. Also, is it necessary to stick with the type that rest on the floor or could I go with ones that are off the floor? Because of the plumbing in the building, it is not realistic to change to a floor drain, I know that.

thx again for the info

Most of the old ones are gravity, it's the newer ones that have switched.

If you raise it off the floor, then Crane makes the Gravity Rexmont for wall hungs.

Your toilet does not have the hardware necessary to mount it on the wall, and to redo the plumbing to install it, could be a major remodeling job.
