what is the next step for removal to replace the washer and seat on this old faucet [50's/60's]? i removed the handle but do i need a special tool to loosen the rest? if someone has a diagram that might help. i don't want to use an ordinary plier if i shouldn't and since it is old i don't want to break it or ruin the threads. any help is appreciated. i attached a picture http://sc.groups.msn.com/tn/EC/70/faucets/1/1.jpg

The picture is too small and too dark to help, but most of the KofK faucets in that era had an escutcheon, or escutcheon holder, that screwed off once the handle was removed.

The only special tool would be a tapered, square seat wrench or a set of long allen wrenches to remove the seats.........if they'r not smoth.
