Hi Terry,

Based on your advice two years ago I purchased a comfort hieght Drake with CEFIONTECT that flushes 900g.

THANKS! Great choice. The Drake was a great improvment.

My son has IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and lays out large loads clog up the Drake about once per month. Given that the Drake does not accomidated the shape of a plunger well thses clogs are no fun to clean.

Is there toliet that will better flush these firm, high density, large fat logs?

Time to buy a second replacement toliet for the house and I am hoping to improve of the flushing power of the Drake.

Which should I buy?
- Another Drake?
- Drake II?
- An older Caroma model like the Caravelle 270 Easy Height Elongated
- A new Caroma model, the Sydney Smart?
http://www.caromausa.com/Sydney-Smart-305-Elongated
-Or should I step up to even a more aggressive flushing system? If so what is the most residential appropriate system you would recommend?

Thanks much!
James

If the problem is large stools, then the Caroma.
It has a very large trapway for those situations.

If it is something like diarrhea, and he is clogging the bowl with paper, I would recommend a bidet seat.
A bidet seat does a much better job cleaning then paper.
Bidet Seats and Washlets
It will be much easier on the skin too.
Paper is very rough.
You will also be saving on paper, a lot.

Thanks Terry,

My son's problem is very large, fat stools so it sounds like the
Caroma is the way to go.

Do you have any favirote Caroma models?

Speaking of "Bidet Seats and Washlets" I was thinking about one of those for the Master Bedroom. You now sell a large number of brands. Do you have any favirote models?

Thanks,
James

The Cleansense with remote is a pretty good deal.
I also like the Toto S300 washlet.

Any of the Caroma toilets will be fine, they work pretty much the same, just pick one that looks nice.

I prefer the Toto, buy your son's going to like the Caroma better.

Have you tried Miralax for your son? Our kids don't have IBS, but they have had issues with infrequent BM's at times. A few partial doses of Miralax over several days (this was recommended by their pediatrician, but we used even smaller doses) seems to get them back on a 1-2 times a day routine again.

Before the Miralax my daughter was having frequent urinary tract infections because of the enlargement of her colon from once every few day BM's. Reduced bladder volume and frequent urgent urination were symptoms/results of the original problem.

Note: I'm not suggesting you try anything without talking to a physician about it.

Thanks much "Runs with Bison'

IBS is a chronic life long curse. Fortunately he has not yet reached a stage where he feels any pain.

If my son follows his diet within a horse shoe's reach of the plan he needs no additional medical help to keep things 'moving regular.' So I prefer to push diet as plan A as much as we can to establish good life long habits. If we get stuck I will check out your recomendation.

Thanks,
James
