Looking inside the TOTO Prominence one-piece toilet.
The black rubber tube should be pointed into the overflow tube above the flapper. This is refills the bowl.

Here is a picture of the tank lid workings.

We just did some service on two of these in Bellevue today, replacing the flapper seal and the cap in the fill valve. I haven't seen a new one of these in years.

Toto Prominence and the double flush

Hello Terry,
I have a Toto Prominence toilet and it never flushes completely on the first flush. The second flush flushes completely. It's kind of annoying and wasteful. Is this a toilet issue or could it be a plumbing issue?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Hope all is well on the West Coast.

Pop the cover and verify that the black hose is directing water into the overflow tube and is being held up by the clip. This is what fills the bowl. If the bowl isn't full when you try to flush, it fills from the tank's water, then the next time flushes properly, and if the bowl isn't full, repeats, one lousy, incomplete flush, one good one....

Jim, Works like a charm. Thanks so much; I lived with that for far too long. Danny
