Bathtub Drain Hair Catcher

I recently installed a new bathtub with a pull-up drain. I used to have a little metal basket that I custom fit to the drain. I went out and bought a plastic strainer like this, but it is not big enough to allow the drain to pull up.

I'd like to keep the hair out of the drain.

Any suggestions?
