Okay, I didn't see this anywhere on the site. I have low water pressure downstairs only on the hot side (kitchen and bathroom sinks). It was never a problem before. I cleaned the screens but no luck. I think there must be something in the hot water pipe and one pipe must feed the entire downstairs and the upstairs is on a different pipe. Am I right? If so how do I fix this? The house is 12 yrs old.

pipe

YOu may be correct, but there is no way for us to verify it, because we would have to see your house before we could tell how the piping is arranged.

rats

so much for the easy fix, i might try to purge the lines somehow. any special advice in that area?

Back Flush The Hot Lines

this might make things worse or it could make it
turn out good.....

you back flush the hot water lines..

1. shut off the water to the hot water heater
turn it down or off too.

2. put a hose on the drain valve on the bottom of
the heater and run it to nearest floor drain....
open it up and leave it flowing into the drain.

3. at the faucets that are stopped up take off the
areators and stop up the faucets with tissue paper. then

screw the areators back onto the faucet and turn on both
the hot and cold water lines

what should happen is the water will flush back through
the faucet through the hot side and back into the
water heater because it cant come out the end

let it run for a few minutes....
it should be pouring water out the garden hose into the drain..

you might have to repeat this procedure a couple of times

do this to all the lines that are clogged up ,
then turn in all back on and either you
will have blown out the lines or

you are going to be worse than before.. and mad at me.

sounds good

I'll do it on my days off,, sounds like a good plan anyway.

perfect fix

Okay I purged the lines just like you said but I went a little farther and used the air compressor to blow the line out from the kitchen sink,, may have been overkill but my prssure is back to if not better than normal. Great site,, I kinda had the idea but this site gave me the courage to get the job done.

THANKS ALOT Roy
