I am getting my flooring installed tomorrow downstairs in my basement. Carpet in the living room and lino in the laundry room. I live in a townhouse where there is a toilet pipe coming up from the floor that is capped off (roughed in for a toilet). I do NOT want to put a toilet in this room ever so I need to cut off the pipe and cap it. Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to do this?
I was assuming to just hacksaw it off but wondering if I should go buy a dremel so I can cut the pipe lower in the floor so that the cap can sit flush with the floor. Also I probably need to chisel the concrete away from the pipe so that I can get the cap to fit since it's going over the actual pipe, etc.
Hope this makes sense, basically I just want to confirm I'm doing this the right way. I need to do this tonight before tomorrow morning.
