I have a symmonds flow master valve that is frozen. The shower was not used for over a year and will not turn. I tried penetrating oil and soaking it with vinegar (both poored into the weep hole where I removed the screw)...no luch, it is still frozen. Any suggestion before putting a big wrench or heat on it? Please help..Thanks. Nancy

symmons frozen valve

It was put in a summer home about 25-30 years ago....so it is old. we finally got it out, but the new part we got does not look the same. did they replace the older models?

yes...

the newer models are pressure balanced......

the older models are a horse of a different color...

you will most likely have to go to some special plumbing outlet

in your area that carries all the old old stuff like this...

Just call a local plumber and ask them where they go for special

hard to find parts.... and take the part with you.
