I have a well to supply water to our home. We have a problem with pressure. If the water is being used and another outlet begins to use water (flush toilet, washing machine) the pressure at the original site just drops. If I am in the shower and the toilet is flushed the shower head begins to whine and the water barely trickles out. We have a Gould 1/2 submersible pump in a 50 foot well. It comes into a pressure tank. 40lbs cut in and 60 cut out. When the pressure tank is empty the pressure reads about 37lbs. When full the tank reads 62lbs. House was built in 2002 and all was new then.

Just to give a break down the line comes in to the pressure tank, first goes through a whole house filter (clear plastic screw on type), then into a water boss water softener, and then feeds the hot water tank and the rest of the two story house.

It seems that everything is working right but the pressure loss is terrible.

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Thanks

I bypassed the water softner and it didn't change. Took the cartridge out of the inline filter and BOOM! the pressure is back. Now do I just leave the cartridges out, try a new filter. I am guessing that the cartridge is plugged or junk. It was a charcaol type that is a sealed blue plastic. Any further help would be great. Thanks for the help, I was pulling my hair out......

Try it without the filter for a few days and see if you start to get an unpleasant taste or odor. If you do then go ahead and put a new cartridge in.
