Dishwasher Island Drain confusion

I've seen lots of guidance out there about running a loop drain for a dishwasher / sink combo.

What about just a stand alone dishwasher? Can I still use the loop drain? If so, how do I make the tie in?

A drawing, photo or some other guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You can do it exactly line a sink drain, but in this case, you MUST use an airgap fitting, regardless of the code requirement, because the drain has to make a solid connection to the trap. You cannot install the drain with a "high loop" the way you can when connecting it to a disposer fitting.

Dishwasher Drain

Thanks, that's kind of what I've been hearing. So, just run the dishwasher hose into the drain pipe & trap without looping it high against the back of the cabinet?

I figured I'd use 2" pipe and a reducer at the top with the 1-1\2" air gap.
