With regard to gasoline, it's no wonder that too many people don't know better.
We're fed a lifetime diet of TV and movies where someone goes into a building, supposedly pours gasoline all over the place, then lights a match.
In the movies, nothing happens until the match actually is thrown on the gasoline, and then it just begins to burn steadily.
Where in real life, the gasoline will likely explode the moment the match is struck.
I cringe every time I see these portrayals, because I fear that somebody like this fireman will do something like this in real life, and get the surprise of their life!
