Iron problems

Skipping past the details, I have a problem with iron, and one of the other problems I believe is tied to it (and what prompted me to post) is the smell of my laundry... it's terrible.

I browse web sites, mostly commercial, and they all seem to have their own word on how to treat the problem... "Buy my stuff"

I was wondering how to tell how severe my iron problem was, and in general, how do I find a place to test it. There isn't much to find in regard to well testing, I think I am choosing the wrong words to look for. Also, what can I do, and if any of my choices were something that didn't require consumables.

You need current water test results. You can buy a kit and test the water yourself or look in the yellow pages under Analysis or Water and find a lab or pump or plumbing supply house that does water testing.

Then when you know how much of what is in your water post the results and we can go over choices of treatment.
