I bought my house 12 years ago. When we did the water test it was contaminated with ecoli. I cut the 2 poly pipes off at the wall and put expanding foam to seal the ends of the pipes. Now I want to put in a sprinkler system.
1# If the water still has ecoli in it, is it safe to use with a sprinkler system only?

2# Could I open the well up?

3# what would I need? And my WIFE would want an estimate of cost. Thanks

So since you cut off the well 12 years ago, what water have you been using since then? You should have treated the water.

1. If you don't ingest any of it I suppose it is.

2. If you think you can, you're right. If you think you can't, yo;re right. So, why would you think you can't? Cut off the pipes back to where the foam went and replumb them to the pump. If you think you can do that, I guess you can or you'll learn how to do it then.

3. Some same type/size pipe, two insert x insert couplers, a box of 10 hose clamps and whatever you threw away off the pump that you shouldn't have if you ever wanted to use it again. So... cost should be like $25-$50 depending... I can't help with the wife problem but yer not one a them feminized American males are ya? Man this is going for PLUMBING! not toys. ;)

Um, what are you planning to use for a pump?? After 12 years of no use I wouldn't bet on it starting.
