no cold water

I have a basic Moen single hand faucet in a bathtub less than 5 years old. This tub get used only occasionally. Today there was no cold water from the tub although the sink and toilet worked appropriately. On beginning the tub knob turn a diminished stream of hot water came out where the cold water should have been and the hot section works fine. Any suggestions? MR

I'm not a pro, nor worked on that type. From what I read, though, it sounds like the pressure balance part is stuck. I don't know if taking it out and cleaning it is possible. You might want to check out Moen's website and see if they have diagrams to look over or a troubleshooting section.
