Please help a gal out :o)

Cold handle broke a few months ago. Went to 2 different improvement stores and couldn't find any replacement parts that looked like what I got. There is no name brand on faucet. It looks like a Moen knockoff, only the way it is assembled is different. The lower portion does not twist off.
Well the hot broke tonight. How do I get this apart and can I replace stems?
I tried pulling on the leftover broken plastic, clear on hot and blue on cold. Didn't budge. What holds it all together.

Looked and looked for photos on the net and found this site right in my own back yard. Small world:)

Never thought I'd be saying in Seattle area, we need rain.

Hi Terry,

It's not a Moen, the bottom does not screw off like the Moen. I played with it at the store thinking it was the same. It does not say moen anywhere.

My 2 girls play softball. At Everett this past weekend it was chilly. I'll take that now. Funny thing is we moved here almost 3 years ago from Georgia. I love GA but don't think I can ever take the heat after living here. I need A/C!

I'll check out the links though thanks!

Stem won't come off

I have the same problem, but with a bathtub fixture. I just wanted the replace the o-rings as the hot was dripping from the stem when the shower was on. It is a different model but the stem wouldn't budge. I put a wrench on it and stripped the square shape on the head of the stem a bit. Now the hot just pours out! I turned off the hot water for the house and I've called a plumber who is supposed to come in a few hours. Should I try vice grips? It's an old 3 handle shower with a diverter on the spout.

Moen

They NEVER say Moen anywhere. You probably have the old handles and need a very LARGE wrench to unscrew them and then call Moen and have them send you new ones because the old ones have wrench marks on them.

My stems are actually Crane

I used a larger wrench and it came off. The hot is solved. The screw broke on the handle for the cold when I decided to just have a look at it for comparative purposed and now I need to try to replace the stem on that one as well, but I'll leave that for another day! It is very stiff as well. I'm afraid it will break off internally and I'll have to replace the piping and cut into the tile. We have hot and cold running water throughout the house, just the handle is loose on the downstairs bathtub.
