I have a leak at the sink spray attachment. I also have a portable dishwasher and should not even have a spray attachment at the same sink. When I installed the spray attachment, I don't remember there being anything plugging the hole that the attachment connects to. But now that I am taking it off it seems that there must have been because it just lets the water run out under the sink. Do I need to go in search of some plug or is it something else that I am overlooking?

You should be able to find a cap that will screw on to the place the spray hose attaches. For your information, a "plug" has male threads and a "cap" has female threads. Both accomplish the same function. This should not be hard to locate at a plumbing shop. It might be a good idea to take the hose that you have disconnect with you to make sure you get the right size cap.

You need a 1/4" pipe cap or a 1/8" pipe plug depending on whether the threads on the valve or on the inside or outside of the connection. It may be beyond your abilities, but if not, the diverter inside the faucet should also be removed to eliminate possible problems in the future.
