well pipe shaking

When my pressure switch on my shallow well kicks off it shakes the pipe, and I am worried that it will eventually break my pvc piping. Any suggestions? Thanks

What kind of check valve do you have and now old is it?

It doesnt have a check valve except in the top of the 4''submersible pump. Do I need one? thanks

So it's a submersible pump. What brand and how old?

Bob, thanks for the reply.Its a waterace pump 110 power 4'' submersible 1 week old. Pumps alot of water, but when it shuts off it shakes the pipe.

If your sure there are no other check valves, then it's the one in the pump. It should shut off quietly and smoothly. With no shakes, rattles or rolls. Next time you buy a pump, try a Flotec. You'll like it even better.
